Dr. Natalie Griffin – Veterinarian
Dr. Natalie Griffin is a 2000 graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25 years. Her passion for animals began early—by the age of five, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian, a calling that has guided her entire career.
Dr. Griffin’s professional experience is broad and diverse. She has practiced in equine medicine, emergency care, shelter medicine, and relief work, and has provided veterinary care in seven states as a military spouse. While she values the depth this experience has given her, general practice has always been her favorite and remains where she feels most fulfilled.
Her clinical interests include dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, cardiology, and diagnostic ultrasonography. She finds particular reward in helping pets suffering from chronic skin disease find lasting relief and enjoys managing complex internal conditions that require thoughtful, comprehensive care. Dr. Griffin has a deep appreciation for cardiology and is especially passionate about helping pets with heart disease maintain comfort, stability, and a high quality of life. She also enjoys ophthalmology, particularly explaining ocular anatomy and conditions to clients. Over the past two decades, she has developed advanced skills in ultrasonography and values its role in providing high-level diagnostic care.
Dr. Griffin is known for her approachable, talkative style and her emphasis on client education. She believes that preventive care and informed decision-making are essential to long-term health and strong human-animal bonds. She is proud to work alongside the exceptional veterinary team at Great Neck Veterinary Clinic, whose collaborative culture and commitment to excellence she deeply values.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Griffin enjoys time with her family and four children, church, yoga, fitness, college football, and travel. She has shared her life with many beloved animals over the years and is also the author of My Cat Ate Aliens, a collection of veterinary stories now approaching its third edition, with proceeds supporting animal shelters.
